Child Protection Policy

At Lift Up Sports Foundation, the safety, well-being, and dignity of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all children participating in our sports programs, training sessions, and events.

1. Purpose

This policy ensures that:

  • All children are protected from harm, abuse, and exploitation.

  • Clear guidelines are in place for staff, coaches, and volunteers.

  • Concerns are handled promptly and responsibly.

2. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Coaches and trainers

  • Staff and volunteers

  • Participants and parents/guardians

  • Any individual associated with LUSF activities

3. Definition of a Child

A child is any individual under the age of 18 years.

4. Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Providing a safe and respectful environment

  • Promoting equality and inclusion regardless of gender, background, or ability

  • Encouraging children to express concerns freely

  • Taking all allegations of misconduct seriously

5. Code of Conduct for Coaches & Staff

All coaches, staff, and volunteers must:

  • Treat every child with respect and dignity.

  • Use appropriate language and behavior at all times

  • Avoid any physical punishment or inappropriate contact

  • Ensure training environments are safe and supervised.

  • Never be alone with a child in isolated or private spaces.

  • Avoid personal communication (calls/messages) without parental awareness

  • Report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior immediately.

6. Prohibited Behavior

The following actions are strictly prohibited:

  • Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse

  • Bullying, harassment, or discrimination

  • Use of abusive or inappropriate language

  • Favoritism or unfair treatment

  • Sharing or requesting inappropriate images or messages

  • Any form of exploitation or neglect

7. Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

Parents/guardians are expected to:

  • Provide accurate information about the child

  • Ensure timely drop-off and pick-up

  • Inform coaches about medical conditions

  • Support discipline and fair play values

8. Safe Environment Practices

We ensure:

  • Proper supervision during all sessions

  • Safe sports equipment and facilities

  • Emergency contact and first aid availability

  • Separate and appropriate changing arrangements where applicable

9. Reporting Concerns

Any concern, suspicion, or complaint regarding child safety must be reported immediately.

Reports can be made to:

  • Program Coordinator / Head Coach

  • LUSF Management Team

Details to include:

  • Nature of concern

  • Date, time, and location

  • People involved

All reports will be handled confidentially and seriously.

10. Response to Concerns

  • Immediate action will be taken to ensure child safety.

  • An internal review and investigation will be conducted.

  • Authorities may be informed if required by law.

  • Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.

11. Confidentiality

All information related to child protection concerns will be kept confidential and shared only with relevant authorities or personnel.

12. Training & Awareness

  • Coaches and staff will be made aware of this policy.

  • Regular guidance will be provided on child safety and conduct.

13. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure best practices in child protection.
